Review:
Bioshock 2 far exceeded its predecessor in as many ways as one can hope. Starting with the fact that you play as one of the iconic Big Daddies from Bioshock, you know your in for a real treat. If for nothing else playing a Big Daddy makes this game infinitely better than number 1. The story in this game was much easier to follow and actually led me to fully understand the plot of the first game. The graphics didn't see much of an improvement, though were still really good, the only place that this differs is in the videos, in which its more like a movie than a game. The fact that they were able to let you play as the hardest enemy in the first game, and still give you an engaging game-play and difficulty is amazing. I felt much more part of the world, story, and character in this game. I felt attached to the main character and empathized with his situation and wanted him to succeed for more than just being able to continue to the next area. With a fully explored back story and closer feel, they greatly improved in this respect. I felt much more sucked in and part of the story than ever before. This game deserves its Game of the Year and 1001 Games You Must Play Before You Die awards. With that being said, however, it must be preceded by Bioshock in order for you to fully grasp all that makes this game magnificent. You must first have been brutally beaten by a Big Daddy protecting his Little Sister in order to understand all that you hold in your hands when you play as one. I would place this game high on my shelf and recommend it ravingly.
Note:
Play this game!
