Review:
I can hardly speak to people about video games without Bioshock coming up at least once. Almost everyone I know has been trying to get me to play this game for a long time coming, though not owning it and not readily being willing to spend the money on it, really put a detriment on it. So when a friend of mine had both Bioshock and Bioshock 2 in her hands and said "I'm going to go sell these at Gamestop in exchange for some zombie games", I pulled out my plethora of zombie games and traded, at least for the time being. Bioshock struck me immediately, had I known it was in an underwater city, I would have played it much sooner. It was not long before the gritty leaking metal/glass city had me sucked in. With a name like "Rapture", and a very enjoyable game-play I found myself quickly realizing why it was so recommended. Uncharacteristically of myself I found it a little hard to follow the story and was a little lost as to why i was supposed to be doing what I was doing. The things that kept me playing however were of course the city itself, the rather enjoyable game play and, of course, the "Big Daddies" and "Little Sisters" who were perhaps one of the coolest enemy ideas I've come across. It was not until much later in the game that I finally started to understand what was going on, and still not to the extent I would have liked. I guessed the Plot-twist really early on, but that happens a lot with me, so its not very upsetting. The great graphics, engaging game play, awesome world, and amazing soundtrack kept me going through any little problems I might have had. I found myself unattached to the character, with no back story, and never seeing him, he didn't play a large part in my enjoyment of the game. I would recommend this game to anyone, even though the replay value is much less than its sequel.

Note:
(It was not until I played the second game that i fully grasped the depth of the storyline)
